Project:

After enjoying some initial success, the owners of al Fresco decided that their logo should more accurately portray the image that they had cultivated. They wanted something that was upscale and modern, yet rustic and friendly. They also wanted a logo that conveyed their cuisine, cocktails, and Italian heritage.

The blending of modern typefaces with hand-drawn illustrations represented the restaurant’s combination of upscale food and rustic atmosphere. The illustrations of the fish, martini, and garlic clove also showcased the two sides of the business. And nothing says pizza like an Italian flag… but that’s too easy so we didn’t stop there. Each panel of the flag was done in a tight scribble, with the center panel tilted at an angle. The end result was a logo that is rustic, modern, and accessible all at the same time… just like the restaurant.
